After much preparation, sleepless nights and wondering about whether or not I can actually wake up at 5.30am, I finally managed to get myself to Bethnal Green. The journey was a mere 3 hours long and included a short ride on train, and even shorter ride on bus and then back onto the train again. Nothing to fear!
I was lucky to bump into Miss lla of Ella Goodwin Illustration on my travels so at least I didn't feel totally alone on my rather lengthy trip to the capital!
The BUST Craftacular was held in London's York Hall, close to the Museum, at Bethnal's Green. The old building reminded me somewhat of a theatre from the outside. Inside though, it was buzzing full of crafty makers getting busy for their stall, some had build their stall really high, unfortunately I couldn't bring so much stuff on my journey, so my stall had to be slimlined.
The BUST Magazine Craftacular boasts for many great makers including Rob Ryan, Eclectic Eccentricity and also gives Tatty Devine goody bags away to the first 100 people to enter the building!
I decided to take a real mix of products along- my mainline, A/W 2014 and S/S 2015 too, to showcase the variety of things I can make. The event was super busy- and there was food and drink, and a live DJ too. I was surprised at just how friendly everyone was and made friends with Hollie from The Basket Room who had her stall right next to mine. We shared food and drink and watched each other's stall which was lovely.
Seeing so many talented makers all in one place made me so unbelievabley happy, and I spent a lot of the morning having a little dance behind my stall (and secretly loading up on carbs so I had plenty of energy for the day!)
The event lasted 12til 6pm, and the time seemed to dash by really quickly for a longer event. Afterwards, I head off to London Liverpool Street. My train wasn't until 8.30pm but I decided to hand about for a while and take in some of the sights, and enjoy a meal (and cheeky cocktail) in Spitalfield's Giraffe.
Chilli and lime crusted whitebait with a yummy red pepper dip. These were so satifying!
Katsu Pork Escalope, lots of yummy fresh veggies and noodles in this one, and all following by this delicious mango and passionfruit daquiri below! What a treat!
Not getting back home until about 11pm, I was happy but exhausted and managed to sleep most of the next day too. I'm so glad I went along to say hi to everyone though, it was such a wonderful event. Now I'm really looking foward to Fakenham and Norwich Makers Markets!
