The heat is on and the fashion crowd are out to play in Norwich again. Celebrating the myriad of diversity and independent style in the great city of Norwich, are several shows designed to ensnare the senses.
The Retailers show will showcase the most prominant Norwich Brands, sponsored by Mercedes-Benz, it is always set to impress. Showcasing new season's designs by John Lewis, Jarrold and other local independent retailers there is always a great mix of styles to be found.
Key trends this season are tropical fruit colours and prints, kimonos are making a comeback too, and men's trends have moved into sharp tailoring with neat beards. Navy is now the new Black, with deep sombre tones which can be worn during the evening, or added in the form of a jacket or jumpsuit to keep the trend upbeat during the day.
The show I always adore though, is the Vintage Show, and this year I was lucky enough to help backstage. Kimonos really took centre stage at this show with some gorgeous pieces from the Costume and Textile Foundation, as well as some show stoppers from Wake Up Little Susie. With the sucess of Fifty Shade fo Grey, kink has become more mainstream- Proudlock and Harry showcased some rather daring pieces, along with custom made latex. Oh errr! Finally, milliner Ruby & Rose went Eastern with headpieces featuring chopsticks and oriental blooms.
