Well, I had a rather nautical Valentine's treat in store for my other half. He's absolutely obsessed with having an tropical aquarium, so what better present than to take him to the pet store and the Sealife Centre!
I can't remember the last time I went to the Sealife Centre, but I always remember it being a magical experience... quite soothing really. I wasn't wrong. A few minutes after entering, I was whisked away into a glow-in-the-dark world of jellyfish! I love cephlapods!
Jellyfish are just so ethereal, the coloured tanks flickered between purple, red, blue and green. Felt a little bit like a jellyfish rave, hehe!
We also saw some gorgeous tetras, we'd seen a few at the pet store, but it was gorgeous to see schools of them in a really natural-looking environment. Their blue stripes were almost UV, really gorgeous!
I think me and Simon will both agree that our favourite part of the day was standing underneath the shadow of a giant sea turtle. According to the staff, his name was Noah and what a sight! This boy was absolutely gigantic!
Noah was wonderfully graceful, me and Simon sat around for a while and just watched him. It was nice to get away from the rush of the city and relax for a little while. Christmas and January are some of my busiest months, let's call February my holiday ;)
Maybe there will be a time when I can make another nautical collection and feature Noah in my designs- he really was such a beauty. The jellyfish and bright fish were very jewellery-worthy too. Let me know what you think in the comments below!
